SFCC Newsletter / AUGUST 2021 Chairman's Note Casey Whitmarsh
And you thought the roller coaster ride was over! Unfortunately, just as many of us were opening up even more, wearing our masks less and finally feeling comfortable being inside with others, the warnings come again.
As a fellow business owner, I sympathize. One of the challenges through this entire pandemic has been trying to stay abreast of the latest news so we can make our customers and clients comfortable doing business with us. To assist you in this, the Chamber will be running a special promotion across our social media platforms during the month of August, outlining ideas for boosting customer loyalty and making those you do business with feel safe.
I'd also like to give a special shout out this month to the latest Legacy Members who upgraded their membership to an annual Sustaining Membership, Lorton Springfield Dental Implant & Oral Surgery and the Lorton Community Action Center. Not only are you taking advantage of the SFCC's new Premier Technology & Marketing Program (PTMP), your support allows the Chamber to better support all members and the community at-large.
In fact, the support of all of our Sustaining Members enables the SFCC to not only offer networking opportunities, but also support new businesses in their ribbon-cuttings and grand openings. Additionally, it allows the Chamber to support community events, groups and teams. It is certainly Win-Win for everyone!
You asked and we listened! After 18 long months, plans are underway for our first in-person networking event since the pandemic began! Save the date - September 28 6p-8p. Registration details will be announced soon. As of this writing, the SFCC Events Committee was putting together a terrific evening of networking and reconnecting for all of our members. We will follow all CDC recommendations at the time, so look for details next month.
Enjoy the end of summer!
