SFCC Newsletter / September 2021 Chairman's Note Casey Whitmarsh
As we head into the fall months, the Chamber Board is excited to offer several in-person, networking opportunities! It's been a long 18 months but we are looking forward to meeting all the new members who have joined over the last year. We realize that as business owners, you will not have to the time to attend every event we have planned. But I urge you to put us on the calendar when possible. The SFCC Events Committee has been working for months to plan activities that would be most beneficial to you, our members. The upcoming September S.T.I.R. at the Harbour Grill on September 28 from 6p-8p offers the Chamber the chance to introduce all of our new Sustaining Members and you the opportunity to network with your fellow Chamber members. This 'coming out' event does not have an entrance fee, but we ask that you RSVP using the link below so we can plan the appetizers. Coming up in October, we will be starting an occasional series where we invite local leaders and prominent members of the community in to address the Chamber. Our "Meet the _______" series is your opportunity to gain access to someone of interest in the local community. Look for details of our October speaker in the coming weeks. If you have suggestions for potential speakers, please let us know.
The Chamber is here to support our members but we need your participation. Over the last 18 months, we have worked hard to provide you educational and networking events virtually. With the availability of the vaccine, we have planned events for the fall that allow us to come together in-person. We will follow all CDC recommendations and are hosting at locations that offer outdoor space to allow for social distancing.
I hope to see you on the 28th!
Casey Whitmarsh
Come Network with your fellow SFCC Members! The Chamber invites you to take advantage of this networking opportunity to build connections and heighten your business' profile. Promote your business, generate leads, solidify relationships, start new relationships and gain visibility in the local business community. Spouses and business colleagues are welcome to join you. Please RSVP in advance so we can plan accordingly.
#SFChambersupportingmembers The Chamber will host a booth at the upcoming Lorton Fall Festival on Saturday, September 25 at South County High School to collect much needed pantry items for SFCC member Lorton Community Action Center. Donations of baby wipes, canned fruit, dried beans, canned tomatoes and individual kid-friendly snacks will be collected from 9a-2p at the Chamber booth. Please consider helping to collect these items and sharing this donation drive via your social media. Frequent posts across all Chamber platforms will be available and can be shared.
