SFCC Newsletter / October 2021 Chairman's Note Casey Whitmarsh
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Harbour Grille last week for our first in-person networking event in more than a year and a half! It felt good to be back in person, face to face and it was great to be able to formally welcome all of our new Sustaining Members and those Legacy Members who have upgraded their membership.
The annual Sustaining Membership model allows us as a Chamber to better meet our goal of supporting all of you as members by providing networking opportunities, assisting with marketing or social media and providing educational opportunities for our members throughout the year.
Your support through an annual Sustaining Membership also allows us to be a community partner. We had a blast collecting much-needed pantry items for one of our members, the Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) at the recent Lorton Fall Festival at South County High School. Our participation allowed us to not only help one of our non-profit members, but also support the SCHS PTSO, Class of 2022 and offered a chance for us to present the Chamber as a true community partner to the Lorton community. Thank you to the Chamber Events Committee who started meeting last summer with a goal of bringing us all together to network this fall. Denise Bayliss, our Events Committee Chair and Board member, along with Terry Head from Compass Coaching, also the Board Vice Chair and Tom Repczynski from Offit Kurman, our immediate past Board Chair.
Happy Fall!
Casey Whitmarsh
S.T.I.R. Socialize, Thrive, Interact, Reconnect Thanks to all who came out to socialize, thrive, interact and reconnect during the September S.T.I.R. And a huge thank you to the night's sponsors: Terry Head, Compass Coaching; Tom Repczynski, Offit Kurman; Casey Whitmarsh, State Farm Agent.
#SFChambersupportingmembers We had a great time at the recent Lorton Fall Festival at South County High School and we were able to collect some much needed pantry items for SFCC member Lorton Community Action Center. Chamber members and the community at-large were very generous with their donations! Thank you to the SCHS PTSO Fall Festival Committee for inviting the Chamber to participate in this wonderful community event!

SFCC MEMBER ACTIVITIES Kudos to SFCC Member the Emma Jordon Kidz Fighting Cancer Foundation on a very successful GOLD OUT month of activities drawing much needed awareness and funds for pediatric cancer. Steve and Elena Jordon, we admire your drive and dedication and are so glad the Chamber could be small a part of helping to spread the word.
