SFCC Newsletter February 2022 Chairman's Note Casey Whitmarsh
2022 is off to a quick start! How can it already be February? As we all work to move past Covid, many of you are planning some major activities coming up this spring. The Chamber is also working on some upcoming events. Our next networking S.T.I.R. event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22 from 6p-8p at the Hometown Grill.
Do you know what S.T.I.R. stands for?
Socialize, Thrive, Interact, and Reconnect.
We plan every networking event for you, our members, with these fours things in mind. The Covid pandemic has severely impacted our ability to do all of these over the last 24 months. The Chamber's S.T.I.R. networking events provide a great opportunity for members to get to know one another, share resources, and build a supportive network. We see great value for all of our members and the Chamber as a whole. And its been very gratifying to see attendance grow with each event. If you haven't yet attended one of these events, please make it a point to stop by at our March event. We know you are busy running your business, but stopping by for a half hour may lead to that connection you've been looking for. At the very least, you will meet some great people and the appetizers are worth the trip!
In addition to spreading the word about the Chamber networking events, we are also here to help promote your events. We've been able to grow our social media over the last couple of years. If you have an upcoming special event or sale at your business, reach out to Carla Olivo at ExecDirector@southfairfaxchamber.org. She will be happy to help spread the word on our social media.
Legacy Members have until February 15th to take advantage of our Business Showcase Special. Upgrade to a Sustaining Membership and receive a month of Bonus Digital Marketing. Sustaining memberships do just that, help sustain the Chamber so we can continue offering networking and educational opportunities. Contact Executive Director Carla Olivo at execdirector@southfairfaxchamber.org for more information.
Happy February, Casey Whitmarsh

The popular series features local performing groups in the gazebo at Lorton Station Town Center and in Fairfax County Parks such as Burke Lake Park.
Last year's performers included Rocknoceros, DC Light Rail Band, and the Potomac Music Jazz Ensemble. These groups performed children's concerts, a Halloween show with trick-or-treating, smooth Jazz, and more! Opportunities were available to local youth to perform as well.
