SFCC Newsletter April 2022 Chairman's Note Casey Whitmarsh It is the Chamber's largest and most important event of the year and I hope you all can attend! On Thursday, May 19 the SFCC will hold a Back to Business Super S.T.I.R and fundraiser. The Chamber's Events Committee has been working hard to put together a fun, productive, memorable evening, for you, our members.
The May 19 evening planned at Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton will feature catering by the Trattoria Villagio, Back to the Future Trivia, a Silent Auction and Raffle, Movie memorabilia and a real DeLorean! Attendees will have the opportunity take a photo in the driver's seat of a DeLorean! We would love to see this evening of networking, socializing, and fundraising sell out so we can continue our engagement and positive impact in the local Fairfax community. We need your support for this event.
In addition to the great networking opportunity, we are also working to raise much needed funds to help the Chamber continue providing support to our members, as well as the local community. Part of the funds raised during the evening will go to support the upkeep of the Lorton Clock Tower which sits on the corner of Lorton Road and Lorton Market Street. We are very fortunate that Chamber member, Trademasters, donates their services to keep the clock tower running. We appreciate their generosity, but we do have some reoccurring expenses such as the monthly electric bill to keep the the lights on and the clock ticking.
While the Chamber puts a lot of time and effort into providing members with options for networking, assisting with marketing support and providing educational opportunities, we also take pride in partnering with the local community.
We've collected canned goods to support the LCAC pantry. We've participated in the Lorton Holiday Extravaganza and the South County Teen Job Fair. Later this month, we will host a booth at the Lorton Spring Fling. We enjoy being out in the community and supporting our non-profit members. Funds raised at the Back to Business Super S.T.I.R. will allow us to continue this great community support.
Please stop by the Chamber's booth at the Lorton Spring Fling on April 23 and I hope to see you all next month at the Super S.T.I.R.
