Put Your Business in the Game!

As we look forward to the upcoming Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, I'm reminded of the old adage "If you don't play the game, you have zero chance of winning." How many times have we all heard that in regard to things such as the lottery, a sporting event or even your Chamber membership?

But unlike a game or the lottery, your chamber membership has little to no 'risk'. You can be as involved as you would like. Those that don't have time to spend on social media, appreciate the Chamber's efforts to promote our members. Those who depend on leads for their business may value our regular networking STIRs. While those who want to drive potential customers to their website, utilize the website landing page that comes with every annual membership. Some of our members are community-based so they look forward to the Chamber's participation in public events.

I urge you to take advantage of every benefit your Chamber membership affords such as the Community Calendar, and the Chamber website. Make sure your Market Landing Page is up to date and upload those press releases.

These benefits (and more) are there for every annual sustaining member, but you have to put yourself into the game.

The 2023–2024 Potomac Music Upbeat Scholarship is now open to applicants. Students ages 7–18 are eligible to apply for the renewable music scholarship. Potomac Music is proud to offer this one year (Fifty-two 30-min lessons) of one-on-one music lessons with a professional instructor. The scholarship also includes a rental instrument and instructional materials. Potomac Music offers the scholarship in honor of one of their past clients, Petra Casipit who passed away. Petra was an amateur cellist, music lover, and promoter of the performing arts. The application is open until Feb 10.

Spring sports registration is underway at the South County Athletic Association! The SCAA offers a variety of youth sports of varying skill levels.

If you know of a young boy or girl interested in learning the basics of a sport and engaging in some fun, competitive play, check out the SCAA sport offerings.
