What is YOUR Why?

Each of us has a reason we joined the South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. Some of us are looking for networking opportunities. Some of us are looking for resources, be it educational or financial while others are seeking to be a part of the local Fairfax/Lorton community.

Whatever your why, as a chamber, we try to address it. We want you to get what you need from your SFCC membership. And every now and then, we like to check in with you to hear exactly what you are looking for in a chamber.

In the next few weeks, you will be asked to fill out a short survey asking you specifically about your 'Why'. I encourage you to give us your feedback. The SFCC Board meets monthly, and a large part of our discussion is the why. What do our members want from their Chamber membership?

It is a two-way street. We provide the networking STIRs, the sponsorship opportunities, additional marketing options, and a variety of public events. But we need you to participate.

Our annual meeting and largest networking event of the year is set for April 20 at Paradise Springs Winery. The Events Committee has a great evening planned with something for everyone. Consider sponsoring with your fellow Chamber members.

We have a variety of sponsorship levels to compliment every budget. Just $130 will put your business on the Sponsors' Wanted Poster, our social media and even includes your ticket for the evening!

Another idea we are trying this year is a 'Commerce Carnival' at the Lorton Spring Fling. This is a great opportunity for you to have your business represented at the largest community event in the area expected to attract more than 1,200 people! The Chamber's sponsorship of the event allows us to invite our members to participate!

We will be hosting some carnival-type games where members of the community can win prizes. These prizes will range from typical business swag up to gift cards.

Each participating business is asked to donate approximately 50 swag items. It can be anything from branded pens or pencils, to frisbees or magnets. Also, a donation of $50 to be put towards gift cards for the prize table and we need each participant to sign up to help man the Chamber booth for a couple of hours during the event on April 29.

Spring Fling Vendor booth space is normally open only to those who make handcrafted items or are home-based direct sell businesses. Through the Chamber's sponsorship SFCC Members have an opportunity to be represented at this large community event and meet potential customers in a casual, fun atmosphere! We need Member participation to make this happen! Email our Executive Director Carla Olivo SFCCExecDirector@gmail.com for all the details on this exciting opportunity!

Hope to see you on April 20,
