Dog Days or Business Booming? |
|
|
Casey Whitmarsh SFCC Chair |
| August is considered the peak of the summer season. However, depending on your business or industry, you might be counting the days until vacation season is over or you are too busy to even notice.
Some businesses, especially those related to outdoor activities, tourism and leisure, may experience higher demand during this time. Conversely, other industries may experience a slowdown as people head out of town, leading to reduced activity.
Some of you may experience staff shortages as your high school and college age staff head back to school. You may find the pace of business is slower as are response times from customers and clients who are on vacation or otherwise unavailable. |

August marks the back-to-school season, which, if you are a business that caters to students and families, might be your busy season. Retailers may see an increase in sales of school supplies and related items, while other industries may experience changes in demand patterns. Here at the Chamber, August is our time to start planning for the upcoming fall season and the rest of the year. We use this period to strategize, set goals, and lay the groundwork for future networking or community initiatives.
I encourage you to stay engaged with our vibrant Chamber community. We would love to have you participate in the planning and execution of our upcoming events and activities. If you would like to become involved, email our Executive Director Carla Olivo at SFCCExecDirector@gmail.com. We have several networking and community events we are planning for the second half of the year, and we would love your input.
Warm regards,
Casey Whitmarsh SFCC Chair
