SFCC Chair

As we move into April, I want to encourage each of you to make the most of your Chamber membership by staying engaged and connected.

One of the best ways to see a strong return on your investment is by attending our upcoming networking events. These gatherings are more than just opportunities to exchange business cards—they’re where relationships are built, partnerships are formed, and opportunities take shape. The more visible and involved you are, the more value you’ll gain.

I also encourage you to take part in recognizing the incredible work happening within our community. Nominations are now open for our Member to Watch and Community Impact awards. This is your chance to spotlight a fellow member—or even your own organization—for the meaningful contributions being made to strengthen our business community. Don’t hesitate to submit a nomination and help us celebrate excellence.

Your Chamber is only as strong as the members who participate in it. Stay involved, show up, and take advantage of the many opportunities available to you.

I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming STIR on April 8.

Warm regards,

Casey Whitmarsh

Fairfax County Launches Spring 2026 Business Survey

 to Shape Local Economic Policy

Fairfax County officials are calling on local business owners and entrepreneurs to share their insights in the Spring 2026 Business Survey.

The survey is designed to gather real-time data on the needs, challenges, and growth opportunities facing the county’s diverse business community. Feedback from the initiative will be used to inform future county programs, refine small business resources, and strengthen the regional economy.

Participation in this survey ensures that the voices of local entrepreneurs are heard and that economic initiatives remain aligned with the evolving needs of the marketplace. The survey is open to all businesses located within Fairfax County, across all industries and sizes. Topics include workforce trends, the local regulatory environment, and access to capital and support services.

The data collection period will run for nearly four weeks, with the survey set to close on April 17. Business owners can complete the questionnaire online by visiting https://engage.fairfaxcounty.gov/business-survey-spring-2026.

Results from the Spring 2026 survey will be analyzed and shared with the public later this spring to help guide strategic planning and economic development efforts.

 Nominate a Peer

The nomination deadline for the 2026 South Fairfax Chamber Achievement Honors has been extended to April 15, 2026—giving you more time to recognize the people and organizations making a difference in our community.

We invite all members to submit a nomination. Whether you’re spotlighting a fellow member or putting your own name forward, this is your opportunity to showcase the work driving economic growth and strengthening our business community. Self-nominations are not only welcome—they’re encouraged.

The Member to Watch award celebrates an emerging or growing nonprofit, business, or professional showing strong momentum, leadership, and future potential. The Community Impact award honors those whose work, service, or initiatives have created a meaningful and lasting impact across the Northern Virginia community.

If someone comes to mind—or if your own organization has a story worth sharing—take a few minutes to submit a nomination. Your participation ensures these awards truly reflect the depth, diversity, and impact of our membership.
